Gears of War 2 Ladder options
here is a poll to find out what the community would like for the ladder settings for our upcoming Clan Ladders. here is a dscription of what to expect from each ladder:

Community ladders: would be the ones that are using default rules, or community clans custom rules ladders, on popular games. They would be the same thing as "Open Ladders", with the different games rules and settings all listed in one ruleset. Clans just have to make a "Community challenge" (open challenge) on the community ladders, and await replies.

Competitive Ladders: would be exactly that, rules that are modified to give a more competitive edge to the clan match. These settings can be from other websites, but under our community rules. This will build confidence in clans wanting a cheat free competitive ladder. These ladders will be supported by free video slots for posting match replays. (december)

Open ladders imho. If you want to play the competetive rules within that structure you are able to and vice versa if you like the game the way it is.

Both, not everyone enjoys competitive gameplay with the more strict rule set so having both would give the more community clans a chance to play matches here and enjoy them without having to play competitive rules. But if people like competitive then go for it personally I would have to see the differences in rules / match settings.

What about video slots for all matches though? I'm not such how it works the video slots thing but it would be nice if people do record them community and competitive to watch back and see how everyone played.

**I have moved this thread to the new Gears of War 2 ladder forums.**

The video replays will be down to users to submit and share. The video share feature is getting upgraded this December to support hosting of videos from WoC ladder matches.

We have several clans who use YouTube or other websites to host their clan videos. They tend to have poor compression. We are so far working on having high quality clan match replays, and streaming video from the site. I know I am keen to capture more clan footage.

That's good to know we usually use YouTube and it's pretty crap quality. We did start using GameVee for a week and now it seems to have been taken over by someone and can't really see it doing much now. Hope these videos on here will be awesome, love watching back our matches and others.

Would it be possible to run both on the same ladder, Meaning that all games will register on the same leader board so it maximises the amount of teams on the same ladder. But the option to play Competitive matchs or Open Matchs will be that of the clans. Would need soem thought but i feel that it could make the ladder system suit everyone but with out leaving the ladders looking bare with only 4-5 teams on each. (Numbers only an example)
