Yes it does mean no host blood when hosting and EC is turned off.

People who need the violence filter are people who shouldn't be playing the game. Therefore, filter = pointless.

In competitive play (XL MLG) you must play with the violence filter on in GOW.
It can be good and bad.
Good- It allows you to turn of blood that can get in way of screen
Bad- Amount of blood coming out of character shot can show wheter you hit him with a good shot or not. EG if lots of blood comes out he got damaged a good bit.Not much blood comes out it was a weak shot.
