How to - Beat Campers on CoD4
Hello to everyone out there, I have decided to pass on some of my knowledge regarding clan matches, and this is just my advice.
To start off with, I have been in clans for over a decade, from humble PC gaming to the glorious 360, and I have found my way to co-forming Type R clan. I have gained lots of experience over this time, and I think its about time to share these skills and experiences with some of our community clans. So lets start. Camping clans can be a pain in the ass, or putty in your hands. Some clans complain, others just accept it and move on. If your clan are one of the clans who think camping is cheap, you probably aslo complain about it, but thats only because you don't know how to beat a camping team, so please read these helpful hints and improve your clan matches by 100%. Lets start with advancing on a camping clan. Special Grenades are your friend Using your clan, use smoke grenades to cover your advance, as well as perhaps a couple of flanking members, moving in from a different direction, using smoke on one front, and quickly using SMG players flank them while the main force piles in from the smoke. Using flash bangs and stun grenades before you emerge from the smoke screen, gives you that additional advantage over the enemy. Teamwork is vital. Counter-attacking (from a spawn camp) A successful counter attack does not need to involve a whole team, maybe 2 or 3 members, rushing out, if your team are pinned down, and flanking behind the enemy. This also helps with respawning your team members in a different location on the map. For a set up, I would recommend using SMG weapons, or assault rifles. This gives your players speed, and the ability to be mobile, and force the enemy to fight on 2 flanks. There is no point in giving this role to weak players (players who die if sneezed on) and does require a skilled player to do this role. This is sometimes hard to pull off, but works really well if successful. Grenades and grenade launchers These are the most important items when attacking a building with players camping inside covering all angles. I recommend that if you are using this set up, to include the perk "Sonic Boom" as when clearing a floor of a building, this adds the much extra needed blast radius to your weapons. A few cooked grenades thrown into some windows/doorways will clear the building. This requires again, teamwork. Teamwork and communication The most important rule of any game, is teamwork, and communication. A clan needs a good strong leader (doesn't need to be highly skilled game wise) but someone who has an authority over the other members, and one who can rally his team into working co-operatively and overcoming anything that another clan may throw against you. A good leader can be developed on the battlefield, someone who is not afraid to use the mic, and to communicate at all times, actively encouraging players to open up about enemy locations, and numbers. Understand the battlefield Using communication is like having a UAV on at all times, practice with your clan, and get your clan using the same terms for each location on maps. The best way I find for this, is using the domination game type as a starting point. Once your clan knows the locations of these on each map, you can further develop your understanding of the maps, and the "hot spots" on each map. I hope that this information is used by many clans here, as it makes for a much more interesting game, if clans are both using good tactics, and makes the game follow a more fluid and close finish, with the lead usually being swapped between clans, until one winner is announced. ![]() Feel free to add any comments or suggestions here, as I know this is not an infinite list. ![]()

Frags mean nothing if you get shot while throwing them!
3 frags is only for the odd player in a game, I would personally take claymores or RPG, but my 2 nades are always smoke and my regular grenade. If I am using a speedy set up, I go for 3 special nades, always. Flashbang into a room, and then storm in and kick some nuts. Works a treat. ![]()
