Understanding the rules of the Arena
Captain's Responsibilities Team captains are always responsible for their team. Due to the limited staff, this ladder is going to depend heavily on the leaders of each clan to take responsibility for their team and handle every aspect of interactivity between other teams. We are happy to help, but please handle as much on your own as possible. Ladder staff will be available if a situation does arise. When placing a challenge the website will also send an email to the teams contact address. Captains are encouraged to check their messages daily. The challenging team will suggest a day for the match, and while the challenged team is encouraged to work with the other team, the ultimate decision of match day and time fall to the challenged team's captain. If your team is not inactive, but still cannot complete the match you may choose to decline the challenge, and each ladder will specify if there is a penalty for doing so. At the end of every official game, captains are responsible for getting their teams scores. Keep a pencil and paper handy. You should get the round scores and each of your team members scores for the record. If you wish to copy down the opposing teams scores for verification, you may do that also. Please inform your team to keep track of their own scores in the case that you are unable to jot them all down in time. These scores will be reported in the match results within one hour of match completion. When reporting the scores, do not gloat. Any posts reporting these numbers may be edited by the community staff. Be fair, be kind, and be honest. Captains are also responsible for making sure their teams know the rules, especially the no glitching rule. Please control your teams. Reporting It is the responsibility of the losing teams captain to report the loss. The losing team always reports the results on all ladders. Matches must be reported with-in 1 hour of them finishing. Glitching First and foremost, no glitching! Everyone knows what a Glitch is in a game. We are going to have zero tolerance on this. Let's keep these matches fair. Rosters All active players must be on your roster sheet on your clan profile here, before participating in any clan matches. It takes a matter of minutes to invite them into your clan, so please take advantage of this, by adding the players to your clan roster as soon as possible. If a team does not have enough players online by 10 minutes after the scheduled match time, the official rule is to play with an incomplete team. The complete team may, but is not required to, amend this rule to their satisfaction (play with less players themselves or allow a sub from someone's friends list). Communication We have all hoped for a better ladder for some time now. The last thing we need is for anyone to get discouraged. Please keep the trash talking to a minimum and be a good sport. All complaints will be taken seriously. Sportsmanship As mentioned above, unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Valid complaints will be handled as follows. 1st offense - Team captain will handle any discipline. 2nd offense - Ladder Administrator will handle discipline, offending player will be suspended/locked from play for 15 days. 3rd offense - Ladder Administrator will handle discipline, offending player will be suspended/locked for 30 days. 4th offense - Offending player will be banned from the ladder, and potentially the whole clan will be banned. This includes but is not limited to sexist/racist remarks, abusive trash talking, overly sexual or offensive language. As in life what is considered inappropriate is judged solely by the person hearing it. Any complaints will be kept confidential and taken seriously. No Shows Failing to show up at a scheduled match will result in a forfeit. The absent team will be allowed a 10 minute grace period. The present team may wait any additional time they wish, but are not required to honor the match after the grace period expires. Report/dispute the match immediately. Double Clanning Some people have more free time than others. However to avoid conflicts when two teams do battle, you may only be on one team in any given ladder. For the time being there are many ladders for each, but in the future the need to consolidate ladders may arise. However, the 1v1 and team ladders will always remain seperate. Disputes Any disputes will ultimately be handled by the ladder's staff. Teams, by agreeing to participate in this ladder you also agree to follow any decision made by the staff regarding any dispute. All team captains are able to issue a dispute to any challenge or result.

I don't see why as long as the team is registered on the ladders why there's such a big fuss who plays for that team, I can understand it if it's a capped amount of players (like 4 players and 1 sub) but it ain't like that?

Re: Understanding the rules of the Arena
Active players on the roster are there for the community. Its not a big issue, but lets make up a scenario:
If a clan match was to be disputed, under the grounds of one or 2 players from the opposing team cheating/glitching/being an all round abusive idiot, should we settle the dispute, by removing the whole clan, or applying the penalties to the players accused? This helps us keep a track of who is participating on the ladders, as well as building on clan profiles. Players have a right to interact with the other gamers, and I can see no harm in having them register an account (which takes seconds) and for them to pass you their username? Rostered players are the only players eligible for play, the same with any competitive medium?
